Happy Talkers provides coordinated speech, OT, behavioral therapy, infant development, social skills, and diagnostic services for children 18 months to 10 years. We accept most major insurance, are RCEB vendorized, and are actively accepting referrals.

When to refer to Happy Talkers
Any time you'd write "refer to early intervention" or "recommend therapy evaluation" — we are the coordinated, insurance-accessible next step in the Tri-Valley.
Developmental milestone delays
Speech, motor, cognitive, or social milestones not met — from 18 months onward
Autism spectrum concerns
Parent or provider concern about ASD — ADOS-2 diagnostic evaluations launching soon
Language or communication delays
Limited vocabulary, unintelligible speech, pragmatic language difficulties, or AAC candidates — ages 18 mo–10 yrs
Behavioral or regulation challenges
Meltdowns, aggression, rigidity, or difficulty with transitions impacting home or school — ABA serves ages 2–5
Sensory processing or motor concerns
Sensory sensitivities, feeding difficulties, fine/gross motor delays — OT serves 18 mo–10 yrs, IDP serves 18 mo–3 yrs

What to tell families when referring
"Happy Talkers is an integrated therapy clinic in the Tri-Valley that's been here since 2001. When an IEP team identifies therapy needs beyond school services — or when a student needs clinical evaluation for ASD, language disorder, or sensory processing — Happy Talkers is the coordinated next step.
IEP reveals outside therapy needs
Child needs speech (18 mo–10 yrs), OT (18 mo–10 yrs), or behavioral support (ABA ages 2–5) beyond school hours
ASD evaluation needed
IEP team recommends clinical ADOS evaluation — we offer ADOS-2 (launching soon, ages 18 mo–8 yrs) and share results with school teams with family consent
Transitioning out of school services
Aging out of school-based therapy, changing districts, or graduating from Early Start
Toddler not yet in school
Infant development program (18 mo–3 yrs) and Early Start services available through RCEB — families can be referred directly

We communicate with school-based teams when families consent — evaluation summaries, care plans, and progress notes to support IEP development and annual reviews.

Happy Talkers is the clinical hub — operating since 2001, long before the preschool existed. The majority of our therapy clients are not preschool enrollees.
